In response to recent disturbances during the ongoing Limited Voter Registration Exercise, the Ghana Police Service has taken swift action by arresting Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South in the Ahafo region, while pursuing others allegedly involved in the incidents that occurred at Kukuom in the Ahafo Region on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
A statement released by the law enforcement agency highlighted that the disturbance led to the injury of one person, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The Police assured the public that they are making all necessary efforts to apprehend other suspects linked to the incident, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining law and order during the electoral process.
In a related development, the Ghana Police Service issued a stern caution to the public following recent infractions observed at Limited Voter Registration Centers across the country. The statement, released on Sunday, May 12, condemned the unfortunate incidents experienced in registration centers in Cape Coast, Central Region, Kukuom, Ahafo Region, and Adugyama, Ashanti Region, noting that arrests have been made as investigations continue.
