Dodowa, June 5, 2024 — The Greater Accra House of Chiefs has given a resounding endorsement to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighting his potential as a transformative leader for Ghana.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

During a meeting on Tuesday, June 4th, Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi III, the Paramount Chief of Nungua and Acting President of the Greater Accra House of Chiefs, praised Dr. Bawumia for his leadership qualities. The gathering, held at the Regional House of Chiefs in Dodowa, was part of Dr. Bawumia’s ongoing nationwide tour to engage with key stakeholders.

Professor Welentsi expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to surpass the achievements of his predecessors and leave a lasting positive impact on the nation. He commended Bawumia’s calm and composed nature, stressing that these traits are crucial for effective leadership. “We urge you to maintain your temperament, as it is essential for making well-informed decisions for the benefit of the nation,” he said.

The House of Chiefs lauded Dr. Bawumia’s leadership style as a refreshing change from the more confrontational approaches of some past leaders. They believe his serene demeanor will enable him to lead with intellect and wisdom. “Effective leadership does not require being radical, violent, or pompous. A bold leader relies on intellect rather than brawls,” Professor Welentsi emphasized.
