Actor and politician John Setor Dumelo has found himself at the center of heated discussions on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), following his recent comments on Ghana’s controversial “anti-gay bill.”
Critics online have accused Dumelo, who is also an aspiring parliamentarian, of inconsistency in his stance regarding the contentious bill, officially known as the “Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill.”
The bill, currently undergoing parliamentary review and awaiting presidential approval, has generated both domestic and international criticism over concerns about potential human rights violations.
During a recent interview on Star FM, Dumelo indicated his alignment with the position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the bill, emphasizing the party’s stance on safeguarding “family values” in Ghana.
