In the suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region, the decomposing body of a young woman, believed to be in her 20s, was discovered wrapped in a sack and dumped in a roadside container at American Town. As reported by UTV’s Jacob Kubi, residents initially noticed a foul smell in the community, which grew stronger as the day progressed. They initially assumed that someone had slaughtered an animal, attributing the overwhelming odor to its decomposing parts.
However, due to the intensifying stench, the residents decided to investigate its source. They discovered that the container, which had been out of use and served as a grocery shop, was emitting the dominant smell. Suspecting something amiss, they contacted the area’s assemblyman, who supervised the opening of the container with the assistance of Unit Committee Members and others. Inside, they found a sack with a human knee protruding from it.
Convinced that foul play was involved, the police were called to the scene. According to Jacob Kubi, when the body was removed from the sack, a part of the victim’s face appeared to have been struck with a hammer.
An investigation has been launched to uncover the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death. Local residents believe she was not from the area, adding to the shock and sadness permeating the community. Many residents expressed their dismay, lamenting that Kasoa’s negative reputation was now extending to its suburbs.
