Nacee – Doctor said I’d die before 20; he’s dead, I’m almost 50

Renowned gospel musician and producer Nana Osei, popularly known as Nacee, has shared his extraordinary journey of survival and faith after being diagnosed with sickle cell disease in childhood. In a candid interview on Hitz FM, Nacee recounted how a doctor’s bleak prognosis predicted he wouldn’t live beyond his early twenties due to the severity of his condition.

Reflecting on his childhood, Nacee revealed, “The doctor said I would die at the age of 20 or 22 because I was diagnosed with sickle cell at a tender age.” Despite his Christian upbringing, this diagnosis led him on a path to rededicate his life to Christ, seeking spiritual strength and healing through faith and prayer.

Nacee described a pivotal moment in his spiritual journey: “One day in church, my pastor did an altar call after preaching. I wondered why I was sick when God had taken all our sickness away. I decided to get up and go forward with faith. After the pastor prayed and anointed me, till today, I have never taken any medication nor fallen sick again.” This profound experience of healing and faith transformed his outlook on life.

Now in his 50s, Nacee is driven by a passion to help those facing hardships and destitution, inspired by his own experiences of overcoming adversity. He expresses deep gratitude for the strength and vitality that have allowed him to thrive, far surpassing the expectations set by his initial diagnosis.
