A devastating fire erupted near the railway line at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, reducing numerous wooden structures to ashes. The blaze, which broke out around 5 p.m., caused widespread panic and forced residents to flee after a series of minor explosions were heard.

Video footage circulating on social media captures the chaotic scene as residents scrambled for safety. The fire consumed structures located under a GRIDCo high voltage transmission line, heightening the risk and urgency of the situation.

Despite the rapid spread of the flames, some traders near the Odaw drain managed to salvage their goods before the fire engulfed the area.
