Bawumia hails Dampare for increased Police professionalism and discipline

Vice President Bawumia Commends Police Chief Dampare’s Leadership at Commissioning of Ultra-Modern Police Station

During the commissioning ceremony of the 2nd Ultra-Modern brick Model Police station in Kwahu Asakraka, Eastern Region, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia showered praise on Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for his exemplary leadership in fostering discipline and professionalism within the Ghana Police Service.

In his address on Saturday, March 30, 2024, Dr. Bawumia lauded the IGP and his management team for their effective utilization of resources provided by the Akufo-Addo government, resulting in commendable innovations such as the brick-model Police station.

Describing the new model as a significant departure from traditional sand-block structures, the Vice President urged construction developers to emulate this concept, thereby contributing to the local brick manufacturing economy.

Dr. Bawumia underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement capabilities by investing in infrastructure and providing essential resources such as armored carriers, patrol vehicles, and motorbikes.

He specifically commended IGP Dampare for his personal efforts in spearheading the construction of the model police station, acknowledging the dividends of peace and security realized under his leadership.

Reflecting on the various initiatives undertaken by the IGP, including increased visibility through personnel deployment and motorbike patrols, community engagements, and youth outreach programs, Dr. Bawumia hailed the significant strides made in elevating professionalism and discipline within the Ghana Police Service.

“The dedication of our police force to safeguarding lives, property, and democratic values is paramount,” affirmed Vice President Bawumia, emphasizing the crucial role of law enforcement in upholding the nation’s security and democratic principles.
