Asamoah Gyan is concentrating on his children and their well-being when asked about the possibility of him remarrying.

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has opened up on whether he’ll re-marry following the annulment of his marriage to Gifty Gyan.

Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, has revealed that he is currently channeling his energy towards his children, refraining from making any explicit statements about his future plans.

Gyan’s statement came in the aftermath of a highly publicized and contentious divorce from his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan. In a recent interview with Asempa FM, Gyan shed light on his decision to pursue legal separation. He expressed, “The reason why we went to court was that I annulled the marriage, and my wish has been granted, because the things I unraveled were the truth.”

He emphasized the paramount importance of his children in his life, saying, “The most important thing is my children. I am very, very happy with my life. I am a family man, my children like and love me, and I also love and like all of them. So, that is where my focus is.”

Gyan and Gifty were once deeply in love and tied the knot in 2013. However, their relationship deteriorated to a point where reconciliation was no longer feasible, leading to a contentious separation.

Their marital woes garnered widespread attention when Gyan initiated divorce proceedings at the Matrimonial Division of the High Court in Accra in 2018. He even questioned the paternity of their three children and requested DNA paternity tests to establish the truth.

After a protracted legal battle spanning five years, the court ultimately rendered a verdict on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, confirming Gyan as the biological father of all three children. Additionally, the court ruled that Gyan was obligated to provide financial support to his ex-wife, ordering monthly payments of GHc25,000 for the children’s welfare and upkeep. It’s worth noting that this amount did not cover school fees, medical expenses, dental care, flight tickets, or other costs associated with raising children.

Furthermore, as part of the court settlement, Gyan’s properties, including a house in the UK and a four-bedroom apartment in Ghana, were awarded to his ex-wife. Additionally, a gas station owned by the retired footballer in Prampram and a BMW car were among the assets allocated to Gifty.
